The Purple People

Meet Coo's tiny purple people.  We made them together this morning during a quiet hour of creating, out of dusky purple card and watercolour-painted paper.  There are Mummies, Daddies, and Babies.

The Boys, all three of them, are constantly playing with their homemade "cardboard footballers."  They set up entire football games on their beds and play endlessly, using a little ball made of blue tack.

Early this morning, I heard Coo getting into trouble with Mr J for invading his bed, his only private space, and interfering with his football game by snatching a cardboard footballer.

That was when I decided it was time for Coo to have her own paper dolls.  I chose a simple family theme and we sat down together to create them.  Then we decoupaged a peppermint tin with a Coo-made, Mummy-written label -"Purple People"- and into their re-purposed tin home they went.

  1. Erin, you gave me a fun craft idea for me to do with my Hurricane tomorrow. She would love to have little people to be made and played with. Do you mind if we borrow your idea?
