Light

Chest infections... late nights... grumpiness... selfishness... impatience...

For all of us.  That list could go on and on.  It's full of darkness, that list.

I'm turning to the moments of light in my day.  They were there, seeping through the shadows.

Sweet Coo, cheeks red from teething and cold, trying to stop herself from falling asleep.  I would have laughed, but I don't think she would have appreciated that!

Mr J, repeating a dream about a friend's cat.  "She [the cat] had her own house.  I went to visit her there.  I saw her bed and her kitchen, and she cooked dinner."

The Boys, being so helpful in spite of tiredness.  Lefty told me this afternoon that he wished the day was already over and he could go to bed "right now".

Sweet-smelling soy candles... Coffee from freshly ground beans... Handmade dread beads... so many subtle things create these moments of light.

  1. It's the little moments, the small things, that truly make life worth living. :-)

  2. Definitely the small joys that seep through the dark cloud - the ones that keep us going in spite of the difficulties!!

sigh.. you couldn't have painted a more beautiful picture. I completely agree, it is these subtle things that keep us going.
