Tenth Birthday Interview With Righty

Since these two could walk, they've charged around outdoors, rain or shine, having adventures of every description. In the above photo, Righty's spade holds a dead bumblebee, illustrating a story that accurately outlines his character.  Righty found this bee lying on the pavement in our back garden, on a chilly autumn afternoon when he was three.  He proudly carried it around in the spade for a time, looking after it and talking to it, playing happily, bringing it to show me.  Then he decided to hold it in his hand.  Even though the bee was dead, the stinger was obviously still there, and Righty suffered a painful tiny wound. Devastated, he threw the bee to the ground and cried loudly, stamping on the body of the bumblebee.  Within seconds, he had completely let go of his rage and was tenderly and carefully putting the bee back on the spade, and talking about finding a "grave" for it.  Still chatting to the bee in his gruff little voice, he carried it over to a hole and buried it.

Righty's tenacity and stubbornness are legendary.  Here he attempts heroically, at the age of 2 1/2, to ride our friend AJ's bike.

He is stubborn, but reasonable.  He is wise, and strong, both physically and mentally.  He's also quite calming, a quality that doesn't go unnoticed by his mama in our loud and crazy household!

As he and Lefty are turning ten this year, it took me a while to put together a list of questions I felt connected both with their past, present, and future.  This is what I came up with.
