Coo and I had a day out today, just the two of us. We carefully chose our clothes [or at least she did] and went to an ENB production of "My First" Sleeping Beauty, at the New Alexandra Theatre.
Her hair was also very particularly styled, according to her request...
And she was quite proud of her programme.
Viewing abilities heightened from her place on a booster seat, Coo was completely rapt during the 1 1/2 hour performance. During the interval, we ate chocolate and talked about our favourite characters. She also asked me to put on her black ballet slippers. Knowing her, she was probably hoping she would have a chance to jump onstage and dance!
Afterwards, we walked into the city centre and popped into a shop near the train station for some pretend shopping. Coo tried on a few things.
We went home on the train, which was almost as exciting as going to the ballet in the first place!

The entire trip was only planned a few days ago. Dan and I took the older two boys to see "The Hobbit" at the New Alexandra Theatre a few years ago, and receive regular brochures from them. One arrived in the post on Monday, advertising this "My First" ballet, and I experimentally tried to book tickets, assuming that the performances for this weekend would be sold out. They weren't, and I'm so glad I went ahead with it! We had a lovely time together.
Glad you had fun! Coo is adorable! I love her sweater and choice of hairstyle! :)
